This past week, our Chief Executive, Dode Seidu participated and served as a resource person in a two-day intensive and insightful capacity building workshop on Implementing the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol in Ghana organised by Ghana’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, ODI Global and supported by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat.
The workshop had presentations on Digital Sector Landscape in Ghana by Derrick Abudu of ODI Global and Advancing the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol by Michelle Chivunga N. of Global Policy House.
The AfCFTA Secretariat’s Senior Digital Trade Expert, Dr Talkmore Chidede also gave a presentation on the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol and state of implementation.
Our Chief Executive who had earlier served as national consultant for Ghana’s eTrade Readiness Assessment by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) shared perspectives on the ODI assessment and how it would better contribute to realising the objectives of Ghana’s realisation of the benefits of Digital Trade and the Digital Economy. He also moderated a session with Digital Economy/ Trade Stakeholders on their roles and contributions towards implementing the Digital Trade Protocol in Ghana.
Many thanks Dirk Willem te Velde, Mickson Opoku Eric Kwame Asamoah for the opportunity!
