GIZ Trade Hub and AGI Energy Service Centre collaborate under the AfCFTA Business Participation and Competitiveness

As part of the GIZ Trade Hub and AGI Energy Service Centre collaboration under the AfCFTA Business Participation and Competitiveness, a webinar was conducted on Customs Import and Export Procedures, though focusing on Ghana with applicability for other parts Africa.

The session touched on the International Legal Framework for Customs Procedures, regulatory requirements for export and imports including those by other government agencies (OGA) other than customs.

The session delved in documentary requirements for imports and exports and the processes involved in obtaining such documentation. Also, the topics of classification and valuation and the necessity of customs compliance was emphasized in detail.

The relevance of customs import and export procedures in the context of the AfCFTA was presented and discussed focusing on the role of competent authorities when it comes of origin certification.
