Africa Trade Academy was founded in 2022 in response to the need to empower intra-Africa trade through capacity building and technical assistance.
Africa Trade Academy is a pan-African training institution with a mission to build capacity of Africa’s public and private sector to take advantage of national, regional, continental and global trade opportunities.
Africa Trade Academy designs and delivers tailored and practical training that empowers business and government sector in Africa the strategic role of trade as an engine of Africa’s economic development.
Our mission is to provide professional training to public and private sectors in Africa to boost their international business capacities and trade competitiveness.
Our vision is to become one of the leading institutions that provides capacity-building and technical assistance to help African countries take advantage of regional and international trade, business and investment opportunities.

The Africa Trade Academy aims to be a centre of excellence for the training of Africa’s top and emerging leaders in trade and international business. The Academy’s objectives are:
- Provide professional education to develop unique capabilities of government officials in international business.
- Develop capacities of businesses to effectively engage in and take advantage of international business opportunities.
- Provide technical assistance to both government and private sector to enable their appreciation and navigation of the complex and diverse inter-relationship in international business.
- Undertake high quality research to contribute innovative solutions to address domestic and international business and trade issues.
