Stephen Mickson Opoku is an international trade expert with 20 years of experience in trade policy development, multilateral trading system, trade negotiations, private sector development and implementation of trade agreements.
He was the Head of the Multilateral, Regional and Bilateral Trade Division of Ghana’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, where as lead negotiator, together with his team have contributed significantly to Ghana’s negotiation and implementation of landmark trade agreements including the EU-Ghana Economic Partnership Agreement, UK-Ghana Trade Partnership Agreement, ECOWAS trade instruments and common positions in negotiating the AfCFTA Agreement.
Mickson, holds a Masters in International Law and Economics (MILE) from the World Trade Institute and Diploma in Trade Policy from the WTO Institute for Training &
Technical Cooperation (ITTC), from Switzerland; Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) – Political Science & Philosophy and a Higher National Diploma (HND) – Marketing from Accra Technical University.
