26th February 2026, Kumasi: Africa Trade Academy together with Ministry of Trade Agribusiness and Industry and supported ODI Global conducted a one-day training for private sector actors in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.
The event opened by Directors of Domestic and Multilateral, Regional and Bilateral Trade of the Ministry of Trade Agribusiness and Industry was in furtherance of the implementing Ghana’s National E-Commerce Strategy’s goals to “Ensure E-Commerce Is Accessible And Inclusive For All Segments Of Society.”
The event had in attendance over 60 private sector participants comprising both incubator and accelerator hubs and associations of traders, mobile money association and MSME businesses led by women, young people, and persons with disabilities. The training workshop aimed to encourage and support the development of digital skills among this critical group of persons including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), women and youth-led businesses ads well as persons living with disability.
The one-day workshop covered Introduction to Digital Trade; Digital Trade and MSMEs; Digital Trade Opportunities under AfCFTA and How to Utilize Them and Developing A Digital Business Model.
