ATA Trains Association of Ghana Industry Members on Exporting Under ECOWAS Trade Regulations

Africa Trade Academy on 29 July 2025 facilitated a workshop for Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) members on Exporting and Utilising Regional Trade Opportunities Under ECOWAS.

The workshop, facilitated by Dode Seidu, Chief Executive and supported by Solomon Antwiagyei Kuffour, Trade Policy Analyst of Africa Trade Academy focused on regional trade opportunities and existing trade tools under ECOWAS including the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) and CET to expand exports within the sub region.

Considerable time was taken to explain the requirements and processes for meeting the Rules of Origin with practical and tailored examples participants could relate to.

Additionally, participants were taken through the required documentation relating to the goods being transported, the means of transportation and most importantly the persons transporting the goods.

The workshop was chaired by Mr. Ralph Ayitey, the CEO of Coconut Groove Hotel and the National Treasurer of AGI and attended by several Ghanaian exporters both in-person and online.
