Africa Trade Academy has completed an intensive Export Readiness and Market Access training for SME in cashew, palm oil and chocolate industries under the Ghana Private Sector Competitiveness Programme Phase II (GPSCP II), a bilateral partnership between the Swiss state Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Government of Ghana.
The training was facilitated by Dode Seidu, Chief Executive and Bright Gowonu, Chief Technical Advisor of Africa Trade Academy.
The training equiped participating enterprises with practical knowledge and skills to navigate trade opportunities in Africa under the Africa Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) and markets in the EU, US and UK.
The training benefitted from practical sessions industry practitioners including Ms. Priscilla Asante, Chief Executive of Rosswood and Emmanuel Akrofi, from Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE).
The facilitators’ technical session covered:

✅ Export Market Selection and Market Entry Strategies;
✅ AfCFTA Opportunities and Requirements;
✅ Export Procedures and Documentation;
✅ Export Compliance and Certification Requirements;
✅ Export Logistics and Supply Chain Considerations;
✅ Risk Management in Export Trade.
✅ Practical Experiences, Challenges, and Success Factors in International Trade.
The Export Readiness and Market Access Training successfully achieved its objectives of equipping enterprises in the cashew and oil palm value chains with practical knowledge and skills for accessing regional and international markets. Based on the feedback collected from the evaluation forms in terms of the overall training logistics, over 83.3% of the participants rated it excellent. Additionally, 100% of the participants indicated the facilitators had strong expertise in export readiness and market dynamics.
